Many of the industry's leading companies store and convey their bulk ingredients with Pfening systems. |
After years in the baking industry, Fred D. Pfening Sr. founded the company bearing his name in 1919. Starting as a manufacturer's representative, Pfening pioneered liquid metering in the 1920s and developed a final proofer in the 1930s. By the 1950s, the company was one of the first manufacturers to build and design pneumatic conveying systems for bulk ingredients in bakeries. In the 1980s, Pfening added small ingredient batching systems and more sophisticated PLC and PC-based control systems.
The Fred D. Pfening Co. is dedicated to providing the baking industry with the finest metering systems for water, liquid shortening and liquid sugar. Pfening liquid meters are accurate to 1/10 of 1% for batch consistency, require minimal maintenance, and are easy to program and use.
Pfening proof boxes have been the industry standard for reliable proofing for more than 70 years. The rugged construction gives years of trouble-free service. Pfening's Equi-Temp™ air conditioning system virtually eliminates temperature and humidity variations from floor to ceiling and wall to wall throughout the enclosure. The result is consistent size, texture and appearance of raised dough products. The Pfening Model B Digital Microprocessor Control accurately maintains temperatures between 25°F and 122°F, and relative humidity between 35% and 100%.
The company has been a leader in bulk pneumatic conveying systems for more than 50 years. Our equipment unloads, stores, conveys, sifts, scales and blends dry ingredients at more than 1,500 locations worldwide. Many of the baking industry's leading companies use Pfening exclusively for their flour and sugar conveying needs. Whether modernizing an existing system, installing a new line or building a new plant, Pfening designs a system with maximum performance at minimum cost.
Pfening's minor and micro systems take ingredient handling to the next level of automation by reducing or eliminating hand adds. With the push of one button, a specially engineered computerized batching system delivers all of the ingredients needed in a formula, improving quality and consistency, and minimizing manpower.
