Dancing Deer Baking Co., Boston, launched its All-Natural Batter Cookie in select supermarkets and specialty stores in time for summer. A nickel from each single-serve molasses-clove cookie sold will go directly to the Taylor Hooton Foundation, dedicated to ending steroid use in youth sports.

Amish Naturals Inc., Holmesville, Ohio, introduced a line of 100-percent, all-natural, chewy granola bars, now available nationwide in the cereal aisle of supermarkets. Varieties include dark chocolate, peanut butter, fiber-rich peanut butter and fiber-rich fruit and nut. All Amish Naturals' chewy granola bars contain no artificial ingredients, high-fructose corn syrup (HFCS), trans fats, hydrogenated vegetable oils or genetically modified organisms.

Enjoy Life Foods, Schiller Park, Ill., introduced its allergy-friendly boom Choco boom^™ bars — reportedly the first dairy-, nut- and soy-free chocolate bars to enter the allergy-friendly foods marketplace. The bars are made from dairy-free rice milk, and are produced in a dedicated nut- and gluten-free facility. Flavors of boom Choco boom include dairy-free rice milk, dairy-free rice milk with crispy rice and dark chocolate. These bars will be sold at natural food and select supermarkets throughout the United States at a suggested retail price of $1.79 to $1.99 per 1.4-oz. bar.

Rudi's Organic Bakery, Boulder, Colo., is reportedly the first bakery to introduce a national line of certified organic bagels. Varieties include plain, honey sweet wheat, multi-grain and cinnamon raisin. Rudi's Organic bagels, which are made without preservatives, pesticides, trans fats, HFCS and artificial ingredients, are available in packages of six, pre-sliced, 2-oz. bagels. The bagels also are certified kosher.

Uncle Wally's, Paramus, N.J., introduced the newest addition to its product line for health-conscious consumers. Smart Portion Cookies are made with whole grains and come in 100-calorie packs in chocolate chip, oatmeal raisin and lemon drop. The cookies are available in Wal-Mart Super Centers nationwide for a suggested retail price of $2.50 to $3.49 per box containing six servings.

Sara Lee Fresh Bakery, Downers Grove, Ill., expanded its Soft & Smooth^™ bread line to include Soft & Smooth Wheat Hot Dog and Hamburger Buns made with whole grain. The buns, available in an eight-count, 12-oz. package, offer a blend of enriched and whole-grain flour; 6 g of whole grain per serving; a good source of calcium and vitamin D; no artificial colors or flavors; and no trans fats.

Pamela's Products Inc., Ukiah, Calif., added a new flavor to its line of mini cookies: Simplebites Extreme Chocolate Mini Cookies. These cookies come in a resealable bag complete with recipes for a pie crust and filling for cookie sandwiches. The extreme chocolate variety is the third flavor in the Simplebites line that includes Ginger Mini Snapz and Chocolate Chip. Pamela's Products are all natural, wheat-free and gluten-free, and do not contain trans fat.
