Isabella's Healthy Bakery, a division of Main Street Gourmet, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, added Activate raisin bran probiotic fortified muffins to its line of functional muffins. The line already includes Optimize, a Mountainberry/Açai/pomegranate antioxidant-enriched variety; and energy-boosting Revitalize, featuring a peanut butter and chocolate flavor. Activate muffins are made with GanedenBC30 (Bacillus coagulans GBI-30, 6086), a highly survivable probiotic that supports digestive health. GanedenBC30 is a patented probiotic produced by Mayfield Heights, Ohio-based Ganeden Biotech that reportedly survives harsh manufacturing processes. Activate muffins are available for grocery store distribution in 4-pack clamshells under the Isabella Healthy Bakery brand.

Canada Bread Co. Ltd., Toronto, launched Dempster's Smart 100% Whole Grain Wheat bread with life's DHA, a patented, vegetarian source of docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) omega-3, produced by Martek Biosciences Corp., Columbia, Md. The bread also provides 13 essential nutrients and 4 g of fiber per two-slice serving. DHA is a long-chain, omega-3 fatty acid that supports brain, eye and cardiovascular development during childhood and throughout life. Dempster's Smart 100% Whole Grain Wheat is sold under the Dempster's brand in Ontario and Western Canada, under the POM brand in Quebec and under the Ben's Bakery brand in Atlantic Canada.

Salem Baking Co., Winston-Salem, N.C., expanded its Dark Chocolate Dipped Spice Cookie line to include Dark Chocolate Dipped Sugar and Mint Cookies, Milk Chocolate Dipped Sugar Cookies, Holiday-shaped Chocolate Dipped Cookies and Red Heart-Shaped Sugar Cookies Dipped in Milk Chocolate. Suggested retail price per 10-oz. tin is $14.99.

Immaculate Baking Co., Greenville, S.C., added two new flavors to its Better Bakes Organic Cookie Dough line-Peanut Butter and Oatmeal Raisin. Other flavors include Vanilla Sugar, Chocolate Chunk and Triple Chocolate Chunk. Better Bakes is reportedly the first organic ready-to-bake cookie line in the country. Product is sold refrigerated. Each 14-oz. package makes 24 cookies.

Vie de France, Vienna, Va., launched three new sandwich breads targeting consumers seeking more healthful foods. The 4-in. Wheat Sandwich Squares are made with whole wheat flour; the 4-in. Ukrainian Sandwich Squares provide a sweet, nutty flavor; and the 7.5-in. 8-Grain Sub Rolls are made with a special blend of grains.

Sweet Mavens LLC, Glastonbury, Conn., introduced a new variety to its line of soft biscotti. Piña Colada biscotti is made with chunks of dried pineapple, dipped in rum glaze and coated with toasted coconut. Sweet Mavens' all natural line of biscotti includes Nonna's Anise Almond, Golden Apricot White Chocolate, Cranberry Ginger, Mint Chocolate Chip, Mad About Mocha, Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip, Anise Almond with a chocolate edge, Divine Indulgence Chocolate, plus seasonal favorites: Positively Pumpkin and Peppermint Chocolate Chip. Product is available in 9-oz. canisters for a suggested retail price of $5.99 to $6.99, individually wrapped for $1.00 to $1.50, 2 packs for $2.75 to $2.95, a 7-oz. sampler for $6.99 and in bulk.
