Sethness-Greenleaf Inc., Chicago, promoted Jeffery Craig to the newly created position of director of business development. Craig has worked for Sethness-Greenleaf for 14 years. His new role will include identifying companies that can best benefit from the company's flavor creation.
Turkington USA, Goldsboro, N.C., appointed Jerry Barnes to vice president, engineering. Barnes was previously employed at Raque Food Systems, where he most recently served as director of engineering. In addition, Greg Clark joined Turkington USA as electrical engineering manager; and Jennifer Beushausen joined the aftermarket services division after nine years at Bosch, where she headed and expanded an aftermarket team.
Sandusky
Flowers Foods, Thomasville, Ga., named Allen Shiver executive vice president and chief marketing officer. Shiver now oversees the national sales team, as well as marketing, product innovation and category management/consumer insights. In addition, the company promoted Gene Lord to executive vice president and C.O.O., Flowers Foods, and Bradley Alexander to president, Flowers Bakeries. Alexander now oversees the company's operations, including fresh breads and rolls, frozen breads and rolls and snack cake bakeries. Other appointments include R. Steve Kinsey, executive vice president and chief financial officer; Stephen Avera, executive vice president, secretary and general counsel; Michael Beaty, executive vice president, supply chain; Marta Jones Turner, executive vice president, corporate relations; Karyl Lauder, senior vice president and chief accounting officer; Donald Thriffiley, Jr., senior vice president of human resources; Vyto Razminas, senior vice president and chief information officer.
D.D. Williamson, Louisville, Ky., promoted Graham Merryweather to vice president, global sales. Connie Sandusky replaces Merryweather as regional sales manager for the North American sales team. Megan Mullinis joined the company as business development manager.
Kerwin Brown, BEMA's president and C.E.O., has been named interim manager of the American Society of Baking (ASB), effective June 30. Brown will continue at BEMA while filling in for ASB President Thomas Kuk, who is resigning after 15 years.
Representative John Peterson (R-PA) and Representative Danny Davis (D-IL) have been nominated to receive the Horst G. Denk Legislative Service Award, given annually by IBA to two members of Congress based on their support on key issues related to the baking industry.
