AIB Audits give Caravan Ingredients five superior ratings

Caravan Ingredients, Inc. scored superior ratings from AIB (American Institute of Baking) International, during five GMP audits recently conducted at manufacturing and distribution facilities, located in Kansas City, KS, Grandview, MO, Fairfield, NJ and Dolton, IL.

The comprehensive GMP Inspection evaluated the adequacy of operational methods and personnel practices, maintenance for food safety, cleaning practices, integrated pest management and adequacy of prerequisite and food safety programs; the superior rating is the highest that can be attained. According to AIB International, scoring high on this audit shows that a supplier complies with food safety regulations and is committed to providing safe, high quality food products to consumers.

"Caravan Ingredients is very pleased with our 2010 AIB ratings," said Jeff Ottarson, Director of Quality at Caravan Ingredients.  "This is a clear signal that our quality culture has shifted in a positive direction to meet the challenge of today’s regulatory and customer expectations.  I view this success as the foundation to the next level when we certify our manufacturing facilities to a Global Food Safety Initiative in 2011."
