Bob Kirkpatrick
BEMA, Overland Park, Kan., awarded two lifetime achievement awards last month at BEMA's Winter Summit in Chicago. The recipients were Bob Kirkpatrick, retired president of Rondo Inc., and Candy Taylor, president and owner of Taylor-Made Systems Inc. Kirkpatrick has been a member of BEMA since 1981 and has worked on many committees, including BEMATech, IBIE and the executive committee. He was president of BEMA in 1998. Taylor has been a member of BEMA for close to 30 years and was president in 1995. She has been a member of every BEMA committee through the years, chairperson of most of them and has been active in the American Society of Bakery Engineers and the American Bakers Association.
Candy Taylor
The American Bakers Association announced new co-chairs for its executive leadership development committee (ELDC): John Coyne, Pepperidge Farm Inc. and Joe Marx, D. Thomas and Associates. The ELDC public policy co-chairs are Miles Dennis, Flowers Foods and Tim Marron, B.C. Williams Bakery Service.
ADM named Tedd Kruse vice president, Corn Processing, and Duane Holz general manager, North American Food Oils.
Jerry Rymont
Jerry Rymont, publisher of Baking Management and Modern Baking magazines has been promoted to vice president, Penton Food Group. Penton Media is the parent company of Baking Management and Modern Baking. The food group includes Baking Management, Modern Baking and Supermarket News, their websites, newsletters and Healthy Baking Seminars. Rymont joined Penton in 1998 as a regional sales manager. He served as publisher of Penton's manufacturing group and publisher of Modern Baking before becoming group publisher of Penton's Baking Group in 2005, and publisher of Supermarket News in 2008.
