Muffins monkey with apple flavor
Lisa Coates and Robin Rarrick developed Monkey Muffins, determined to create a healthful snack their children would enjoy.
The apple-cinnamon muffins come in packs of four, with the muffins contained in a special tray designed to prevent the muffins from getting crushed inside a lunch box.
As with all Monkey Muffins, the new apple-cinnamon variety is kosher and made without preservatives or artificial ingredients. In addition, the product is made in accordance to vegan standards and contains no dairy products.
Previously sold only in New York and Connecticut, Monkey Muffins now are available in more than 1,500 retail stores from Vermont to Virginia and served in school districts along the East Coast. Other muffin flavors include chocolate chip, banana and pumpkin.
