RBA addressing language barriers
The RBA board of directors approved the proposal during a
meeting last month at the American Retail Bakers Exposition in Las
Vegas.
The associations will link Web sites, share Spanish and English
articles for association publications and make available both
associations’ board members for bakery consulting.
“The language of bread should be within reach of
everybody. In Mexico, they don’t just eat bread, they
celebrate it,” said Minerva Nadler, co-owner of
Nadler’s Bakery in San Antonio, who is spearheading the
effort for RBA with husband Hans.
CANAINPA will dedicate a column in its magazine, El Mundo Del
Pan, to RBA news. In addition, RBA members are invited to train at
CANAINPA’s baking school in Mexico City at a reduced
rate.
Nadler pointed out that the alliance is extended to RBA allied members looking to expand their business in Mexico as well. Demonstrating more about Mexico’s strong baking tradition, Mexi Pan 2008, the annual convention and exposition co-sponsored by CANAINPA, will be held August 27-30, 2008, in Mexico City.
