The Bread Bakers Guild of America, Pittsburgh, Pa., is planning a three-day educational and technical event called Camp Bread 2005. Scheduled to be held Sept. 11-13 at the San Francisco Baking Institute, Camp Bread will be designed for artisan baking professionals and serious homebakers, according to the Guild. The event will include hands-on baking classes and demonstrations taught by industry masters; educational “science fair” presentations from equipment and ingredient vendors; tours of Bay Area hot spots, such as bakeries and mills; and a dinner-dance under the Camp Bread tent Monday night.
