RBA turned over control of the daily running of the association to AMG, the Association Management Group Inc., and turned its focus to bakery education programs instead of a yearly trade show. RBA will conduct the educational program at the American Baking Expo, Oct. 21-23, 2006 in Atlantic City, N.J.

Mihu will be tasked to lead the association as it positions itself as the sole national association for independent retail bakeries. RBA’s membership stands at about 1,100 with a goal to double that number by the end of 2007. The association hopes to accomplish this by bolstering its membership package, products and benefits. In addition, RBA has developed a new logo and plans new member-only products, such as an improved RBA Insight, the association’s newsletter, and an enhanced Web site.
