Bunge unveils mobile marketing truck
Bunge is taking its oil business to the streets in its latest marketing venture. The company unveiled a mobile truck that highlights Bunge’s healthful oils by serving up freshly fried food on location.
“Bunge is an edible oils food manufacturer, and we were looking for a unique way to deliver our message that foods baked and fried in healthier cooking oils can still taste great,” explains Bunge marketing director Bill McCullough. “Our food truck, nicknamed MOE (Mobile Oil Experts), gives us a unique way to deliver great-tasting street food at key customer events around the country. We can now bring Bunge to our customers’ doorstep.”
The idea for MOE was born during a 2009 meeting at the Culinary Institute of America, which featured a demonstration by Kogi, a mobile Korean food operation from Los Angeles. Bunge rebuilt a used delivery truck and fitted it with a fully operational kitchen capable of serving 1,200 people. The 18-ft. vehicle has been converted to bio-diesel and is partially fueled with used cooking oil. Adam Moore, a Bunge Oils corporate chef, will travel to major food shows and restaurant chain franchisee meetings to conduct demonstrations with the truck.
