Mullen, integrated agency-of-record for the Grain Foods Foundation (GFF), received a silver award for its Bread Art Project website at the 49th annual Francis W. Hatch Awards for Creative Excellence, sponsored by the AdClub of Boston. No gold winner was awarded in this category.
“The Bread Art Project represented a strategic shift in how we engaged with consumers,” said Judi Adams, MS, RD and president, GFF.
The campaign was designed to encourage consumers to nourish their families and neighbors during a challenging economic climate, while positioning bread and grains as delicious, nutritious and affordable. For every piece of digital bread art created, the Grain Foods Foundation donated $1 to Feeding America. During a three-month period nearly half a million consumers visited the Bread Art Project. GFF raised $25,000 to help alleviate the nation’s hunger issue.
In 2010, Process Expo will move to a 100% food focus with its new co-location partner, the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT). The combined shows will be held in adjoining halls at Chicago’s McCormick Place, July 18-20. Together, the two events offer attendees valuable new opportunities in terms of continuing education, professional networking and business development.
Interstate Bakeries Corp. (IBC), Irving, Texas, changed its name, effective Nov. 2, to Hostess Brands Inc. The new name was selected following extensive market research and leverages an iconic brand Americans have enjoyed for almost 100 years.
Italian Home Bakery Ltd., Toronto, received its ISO 22000 certification. ISO 22000, which includes Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), is a globally recognized standard introduced in 2005, specific to food manufacturing companies.
Tasty Baking Co. launched initial baking operations at its state-of-the-art bakery within the Philadelphia Navy Yard. In transitioning its first product line, Tasty Baking Co. begins a strategic and phased approach to moving all of its famed product lines to the new facility.
