Snacker Rolls

King's Hawaiian, Torrance, Calif., introduced Snacker Rolls. The four-pack of 2-in. by 4-in., pre-sliced mini sub-style sandwich rolls are available in grocery stores nationwide. The company is launching the product using its signature Hawaiian sweet bread formula in response to consumer demand for complements to sandwich fillings.

Vie de France Yamazaki Inc., Vienna, Va., added Individual Desserts to its dessert offerings. These 3-in. round treats are available in four varieties: Caramel Fudge Pecan Cake, Midnight Layer Cake, Peanut Butter Blast and Strawberry Shortcake. Consumers still want indulgent treats, despite these health conscious times. The cakes are made to go directly from the freezer to the refrigerator to the plate.

Croissant Rolls

Twister Croissant Rolls are new to Sara Lee Foodservice's portfolio of premium croissants. The Downers Grove, Ill.-based company offers the rolls in three varieties: original; cheese, made with a blend of cheddar, asiago and parmesan; and maple and brown sugar. The rolls are made with a swirled, laminated croissant dough for an upscale appearance ideal for signature, premium sandwiches. Each 2.3-oz. roll is trans fat-free; pre-sliced for thaw-and-serve convenience; ideal for round protein items, such as sausage; and adds portability convenience to any sandwich. Sandwiches are the fastest growing menu item in foodservice today. Premium sandwiches can command a premium menu price and deliver premium profits.
