Barry Callebaut, Chicago, appointed Miriam Madrigal and Patty Kopitas marketing managers for the company's gourmet division in North America. Madrigal most recently served as marketing manager for SHEETROCK Tools. Kopitas was a brand manager and marketing manager for Sara Lee Coffee & Tea. Both will be based in Barry Callebaut's North American head office in Chicago.
Jami Blair was appointed marketing director of LaMar's Donuts, Lincoln, Neb. Blair most recently was marketing director of HobbyTown USA, where she coordinated and managed marketing for the 180-store franchise.
ADM's North American Packaged Oils group named Robert Hobson general manager. He will relocate to ADM's corporate headquarters in Decatur, Ill. Hobson joined ADM in 1973 when it acquired the operations of British Arkady. He has held various international financial and commercial positions since joining the company, including manager, mergers and acquisitions; managing director, ADM Cocoa International; and managing director, Pura Foods.
Frederick's Pastries, Amherst, N.H., named Sarah O'Rourke assistant manager of the Amherst pastry team. O'Rourke, who attended L'Acadamie de Cuisine in Gaithersburg, Md. and Lewis and Clark College, recently held hospitality positions at Hyatt and Ritz — Carlton.
SCHOLARSHIP
The Wisconsin Bakers Association, Milwaukee, established a $1,000 national scholarship to honor Robert Hiller for his lifelong commitment to the retail baking industry. The program intends to provide a financial resource for the education of the baking and pastry arts students who will be the future of the baking industry.
