Obituary
Elmer Lee Cochran, Sr., 93, Batesville, Ark., died Jan. 8. Mr. Cochran's career in the baking industry began after high school; he worked for Meyers Bakers for 13 years. In 1946, he established Ideal Baking Co. and Ideal Distributing Co. in Batesville. The Cochran family sold Ideal Baking to Flowers Foods in 2002.
Jim Hinds, Seattle, died Jan. 18, after a battle with Supra-Nuclear Palsy. Mr. Hinds was an industry leader and innovator, starting his career in the food machinery manufacturing business in 1968 with the Philip Bock Co. In 1976, Hinds co-founded the Hinds-Bock Corp. with Philip Bock.
